Trip to Wasai-3: Flying Fox and Rock Climbing Activities

Sorry for not updating for more than a week, hehe, was quite busy with homeworks (and staying back everyday).

Here’s some of the photos taken 2 weeks ago, on our trip to Wasai-3 with the scouts. It’s a scout activity organized by the scouts, and many of us joined. It was fun and tiring, hehe!

Well, the original plan was to go Tasek Lama for the ‘Flying Fox’ and rock climbing activity, but too bad, Tasek Lama was under renovation or something, so the venue changed last minute (we received notification through sms on the night before the event) to Wasai-3.

We reached the port (the one next to Yayasan, where people get water taxi to Kampong Ayer) at around 7.30am and waited till nearly 9am. Took water taxi to the opposite side of the river, and gathered at a school.

Zhi Shiong applying sunblock like a total n00b! You n00b! =D Actually I have a similar shot too la.. haha.Regrouped as we reach the opposite side of the river, I forgot what’s the name of the school already. We went into one of the class and mess around with it, hehe! xD Nola, we just sit down and took some photos, hehe. =D

Apply sunblock, go toilet and etc… After that we start walking, well, never expect it to be this long, man, so exhausting, lol. xD

Haha, I like this shot, funny (both CheaXin and KuiChuan), hehe. =DTaken when we were walking from the school to Wasai-3. It was a long, long walk, tiring but fun. =DTaken when we were walking from the school to Wasai-3. It was a long, long walk, tiring but fun. =D Nice pose, sheeling! =)ZOMFGROFLMAOWTFBBQ! xD Dude (KuiChuan), you rocks! xD ROFL @ CheaXin, HAHA! xDI once read in a photography magazine that nothing can be more boring than shooting the back of a group of people. Well, IMO, they’re wrong, I found this shot particularly interesting, hehe, maybe because of the vanishing point of the road, hmm.. =)Regrouped near the highway, ready to venture into the ‘jungle’, woo! =D Everyone were exhausted from the walk already tho.

Here’s the real fun! =D I’ll let the photos do the talking. Sorry for the lack of photos (suppose to have many one…), I am still very n00b, so yea, many of the photos are out of focus and etc. And I was in the game myself, most of the time I was shooting without looking through the viewfinder itself, haha.

Learned the importance of lens hood (I thought they’re useless, lol, noticed the significant differences when there’s a hood. I was using my hand as a lens hood, lol..) in outdoor photography and had my first experience handling d-SLR (and other gears) in tough (wet, dirty) condition/environment, hmm… (started to include filters, cleaning kit and bag in my shopping list).

Playing some real embarrassing and stupid kid’s game, but fun, hehe. I like the composition in this post. =)Playing some real embarrassing and stupid kid’s game, but fun, hehe. I like the composition in this post. =) This game is called “Kahwin Cerai Tunang”, they’re doing the “tunang” move, hehe. =D (I was doing the same move too, when I took this photo)Nice pose KuiChuan, hehe. We were playing a game which is about passing a loop (a loop of a rope) from one to another, without using our hands (were holding hands in a big circle), quite fun, hehe.Playing some real embarrassing and stupid kid’s game, but fun, hehe. Play “London Bridge is falling down”, LoL. xDPlaying tug-o-war, quite boring but nice photo, haha. =D Taken by ZhiShiong.Poor ShiouYii! Three guys were on top of her when Ali (I think it’s him) let go (or lost grip) during the tug-o-war, and they all felt down (due to inertia, HAHA!) xDKuiChuan in action, nice expression, hehe. =D Well, the photo is out of focus tho, it’s too fast, I can’t really focus, boo. =(TienPing, new friend. Taken when he finished his ‘flying fox’, and was unloading himself from the rope.CheaXin getting down from the tree (from around 1.5m) after she unload herself from the rope/loop.YeePing was having some problem unloading herself from the rope/loop (it’s not easy, you need to do three things using two hands). One of the female scout went up the tree to help her.KuiChuan in action, again. I don’t know what you call this, they said it’s rock climbing, but well, they didn’t really climb, just go down from the top, quite scary, and I didn’t play (yea yea, n00b me). =SPortraiture of CheaXin in the rock climbing gears. =DCandid of YeePing, she’s quite photogenic, I think. =)One of the MD Scout member who’s leading our group. I like this portraiture, =)A stick insect! Cool! =D It’s very soft tho. =D

CaiYen in action, hehe. =DShiouYii in action, hehe. =D

Hello, I am doing a study of the social impact of consumers in Brunei on the introduction of QQeStore for my 4000 word extended essay required for completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in the International School of Brunei. In order to do so I will have to collect primary data. I was wondering whether you could assist me in being a subject of my research because you have already shopped online at the QQeStore. This will not be a long process. I will just have to send you a questionnaire which you will have to fill out and send back to me. Would you be interested in doing so? I would deeply appreciate this. My email is beatrice1711@hotmail.com.
