Any tripod is much better than no tripod.

Macro Mode

Yay, finally got my first full size tripod, a Christmas gift I bought for myself, hehe. Got it at HuaHo Yayasan yesterday for B$68, consider a very good deal because it comes with a ball head, am loving it! =D

As the title suggest, any tripod is much better than no tripod. I had been having a dilemma, whether to spend a lot on a tripod (around B$150-B$250), and so it last for a long, long time (without the need to upgrade to a better one); or spend a lil’ on a cheap one first, and upgrade 2-3 years later. Decided to go with the former, and for B$68 only, I expect this tripod could last longer than 3 years for me (I don’t expect myself to have bazooka lens until 5-6 years later, when I start working) without any future upgrade, why not? Little (macro) Shooter

Little Shooter, originally uploaded by IngSiang (Vagabond).

Yesterday afternoon, I was shooting randomly around my house’s compound again. These two kids of my neighbour were watching me from their balcony.

Awhile later, they ran to me, and showed me their camera, a miniature SLR-like toy (I think it’s some flash keychain)!

And they start shooting like I did, going close to flowers and shoot (of course, it’s done mentally, kids’ imagination are great). It’s really interesting how kids learn and follow everything adults did.

I took them for a walk around our neighbourhood, and they keep on asking me to shoot and let them see whenever there’s a flower, hehe.

P.S: Sorry if I had been posting too many ‘filler’ posts these days, hehe. Continue Reading…

Paint With Light

Paint With Light, originally uploaded by IngSiang (Vagabond).

One thing I really wanted to do before I get my dSLR is long exposure shots, and one of the easiest among them (and the only which I can do without a tripod, and without leaving my house) is paint with light.

Just go to your room, get a torch light, close your room’s lamp/light and you’re ready to do. =)

Was trying to get a signature of mine done, too bad, I think I need to sign (using the torch light) backward, you know, like writing on one side of a clear windows so the people on the other side can read it? =p Maybe next time. =D

P.S: You can see the thin white light on the left, that’s my door, hmmm… maybe next time I should seal it with a tape. =D

And yea, I just got my Flickr PRO (paid) account, it’s nice but I kind of hate it when it comes to using it as a sub-storage for my non-photography (events, gatherings, photos used in blogs) photos/images, I’ll sort out a way and talk more about it.

My Driving law exams in 3 hours! Urgh, pretty scared actually…

The Hobo & The Loner

A stray dog who wander around my neighborhood, and decided to settle down in the house next to mine.

It’s quite funny how it get along with my neighbor’s dogs, and even shared their food! Continue Reading…
