Chinese New Year 2008 : 初九 - Open House @ CheaXin’s Place

P.S: The photos you’re going to see are not consistent due to the various lighting condition of various places of CheaXin’s house, and different photographers. =) Most are taken by me and Kelvin tho, and since the camera not with me 100% of the time, I can’t really keep track of the settings and etc, so yea, mind the fluctuation of colour and etc. =) My white balancing skill still sucks, blehz.
And this is by far the biggest set I had ever shoot (since I got my D40), 71 keepers (uploaded but not all are posted here). =) Took me quite some time to sort ‘em out and get them up here so I hope you people will like it. =)
Candid Portraitures:
^ Taken by Kelvin, he loves it. I think it’s very nice too, very natural light and expression. =) Well done dude. =) And yea, he soon discover the fun of shooting candid of YiHuey, =p
^ Hehe, permission granted from CheaXin to put this up. =p I am glad that I didn’t delete it. =p It’s not terribly funny after seeing it for the next few times, perhaps I should exaggerate it (her ‘geeez’ expression) with a bit of Photoshop? Hehe.
^ My (not really) new favourite portrait photography subject, a truly elegant girl. She’s not very comfortable with candids
tho, need some ‘training’ (which is erm, having my camera pointing on her so much that she don’t care about it anymore) from me, hehe. She’s very blur tho, and loves to eat… LoL *running* xD
^ By Kelvin I think. As usual, I like her hair a lot (I think I have an obsession for nice 发尾, may it be guy’s or girl’s, probably because mine sucks). Nice emotion too. =)

^ Bet that this is the only time I could catch a portrait of this shy guy - when he’s playing football (PES) game, lol. Somehow, I like his hair. =)
^ Very nice expression captured and the overexpose of the background actually adds a certain degree of drama to this shot. Taken by Kelvin I think. Well done here.

^ Did try to take another shot where the focus in on her face (in this shot, the focus is on the DS Lite) but her smile/laughter faded too soon.
^ I love shooting this kind of candid - when people are taking photos or viewing photos, as if from a third person’s perspective. =)

Mir: Thanks, =) Well, I am a beginner as well, =p Just make sure you included a 50mm lens into your list if you wanna take nice portraits, =p It’s cheap and good! xD
OMG another amazing set of photos! Among all the huge sea of them my favourites are the ones featuring people taking photos of themselves using camera. The very first one the focus is a little off, but after looking closely at it, the camera is in focus! Very artistic indeed :D

teddY: =D Thanks for the kind words dude, =p Hmmmm, yea, I was focusing on the camera but then actually it’s a bit OOF too, hahahaha, when you look at 100% la, smaller size like this looks pretty sharp. =p I forgot to apply a level layer to it in photoshop tho, lol, inconsistent, blehz.

The candid picture, i looked weirddd.. haha. but nonetheless thanks for taking the picture that i love the most. :D i really really love it and most of my best friends said i looked good in it. so yea thanks a lot mister! :D no worries, it looks perfect to me. the picture i meant. it’s not obvious that it’s blur.
CheaHong: =) Maybe because I had too much of a purist in terms of sharpness, hehehehe. xD Can’t blame me, most photographers end up as one, xD Anyway, I am glad you love it, =D
