^ Yesterday, I went to check out the humming bird nest in my garden again, and hey, the nestling grow up real fast man! A week ago they’re still so small and naked(you get what I mean, blehz), but now they’re already so energetic! Continue Reading…
An Unexpected Visitor (again) - A Bird and it’s Nest
Posted in: 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, Animal Photography, Macro PhotographyHere’s a bird nest my brother found in our garden.
I think it’s cool because it’s very rare to see (at least for me, it is) a bird nest being built on a small plant, (it’s about 50cm from the ground), hehe.
It’s beautiful, I like the way it’s built. And funny thing is that we didn’t notice it until it’s completed (the plant is just beside the entrance of my house), impressive. =D
I wonder who lives in there (bro claim that he saw the bird in there at night, but I don’t think it’s bright enough for him to recognize the species). Perhaps I should try to shoot it at night, lol, using flash night vision camera, blehz.

She loves to stick her head out of the cage like this, =p
Shoot at 18mm, the barrel distortion (ie. distortion occurs at wide angle) is enhanced (err, not really…) in Photoshop so that it looks more one which is taken by a fish-eye lens. =p
Too much editing tho, seems like the vignetting (darkening of the edges), barrel distortion and heavy contrast I applied in Photoshop is hurting the overall composition. =(
And I think mom named her Comel, doink! xD
Ongoing Project: New Puppies, originally uploaded by IngSiang (Vagabond).
I am mainly shooting my (new) puppies these days, since there’s no event going around, and I want to shoot as much as I can when they’re still small and super cute!
Shoot mainly in the afternoon, which seems challenging for the small aperture (f/3.5-5.6) of my humble kit lens. Good thing is that they are still not very good at running (but I think they are pretty fast already, they improve overnight!), else it would be even more challenging for my 18-55mm kit lens (my working distance is around 2 feet, and they love to charge at me when I get low on the ground)!
Stay tuned!
