23/5 - 25/5 : First Nikon Roadshow in Brunei @ HuaHo Manggis Mall

Today, I attended my Computing A2 paper 3, I feel so shitty about the exam because I am so not ready for it, but yea, I think it was better than what I expect and I hope I don’t fail it, man! =\ Now my worst days/weeks (6 papers, 2 week time) are over, left THS paper 4 and other papers which I am more comfortable with. =)

After my exam, FooGN came to pick me up, then we went to lim-teh. ChiHo (whom I invited to go along with me to the roadshow), June and Tiong then join us at about 12 noon. We went for Call of Duty before we go back to Maktab Duli to play err, 3-cars-going-in-circle-around-MD-car-park, lol. Freaking funny man, haha. Especially Jun (the tall tall one, lol)!

Then after we’re done with the 3-cars-going-in-circle-etc-etc game, we went to HuaHo Manggis Mall for the roadshow. Well, I was anticipating a lot, like, really lots of lenses and cameras, hahaha, well, I didn’t expect the Canon booth to be even bigger than Canon’s, HAHA! But yea, still, there’s a lot of poisonous substances (lol, when photographer talks about poisons, they mean tempting stuffs, which would eventually burn a hole in their wallet).

Me and ChiHo were playing with the demo units - Nikon D60, Nikon D80, Canon EOS 450D and 40D. We also tried the lenses, including 70-300mm VRII, 55-200mm VR (my next lens), 50mm f/1.4 and 105mm Macro VR (This is the most poisonous man!)

23.03.08 - Giant Is The New Hype in Brunei

Saw this TV crew doing some shooting when I accompany mom to Jerudong fish market, and yea, I had my D40 with me, weeeee! =D Don’t ask me why the hell are they there for, I have no idea, probably a scene in the market? LoL, doesn’t seems like documentary to me, tho. =S

Actors/hosts?

^ I am not sure if they’re recording or not, they were talking in a rather weird tone tho (well, more seriously one? Not casual, lol). If yes, then I guess I spoiled that scene(NG!), lol!

No one approach me after that tho, so I guess they were discussing something, *shrug* (I did a guy yell “rolling~” a couple times tho, lol)

Anything Else Can Wait, But Polaroid Can’t!

jy_peiyi_polaroidWhen I first read about this a couple weeks ago (those who follow my MSN personal message might had seen it), I was very sad, as if I lost an old friend. Even tho I had never taken ANY polaroid photo before, it had always been part of my life, it’s something that I had been in love ever since I was very young, and perhaps the very first thing I am interested in about photography.

I believe that the decision of stop producing Polaroid is a tough decision by the management, and I hope they would take it back (at least we can still keep our hope high for another couple months). While some people are stocking up instant films (and of course, there’s another group of people who’s playing with the price), the rest (who realize that they could never stock enough polaroid films to fulfill their future and never ending need for such an elusive photography) are trying their very best effort to save Polaroid, no matter how silly it might looks like. A New Family Member: Nikon SB-600 Speedlight

SB600_front_view

Finally it’s here, my new Nikon SB-600 Speedlight!!

Like what I mentioned here, I hate direct flash (built-in on most camera), and had always been in need for an external flash. I decided to get a Speedlight after my cousin told me that she’s coming back to Brunei from Singapore. I did quite some researching, to make sure that I really need it (and would not under utilize it), and comparing SB-600 and SB-800. SB-600 and SB-800 are two models of Nikon Speedlights (there are 3 latest version of them, SB-400 doesn’t worth the money, I think, so I ruled out that option), the former retailed at B$350-450 while the latter is almost twice as expensive.
