24.03.08 - Balancing is So Scary!

very_nice_evening

^ Taken weeks ago. I was producing some product shot of my new flash outside my house, before I realize the beautiful sunset - the amazing transition of blue and golden sky. It’s difficult to frame this shot tho, because there’s many houses and it’s difficult to not including some of the roofs into my composition (the golden part of the sky is quite low because it’s really late already). To do so, I must go low, and since shooting the sky only is quite bland, I include some reflection from my cousin’s Honda CR-V, =p Continue Reading…

Quit Friendster! All Hail Facebook!

Hello fellow blog-ders (blog readers, according to XiaXue), sorry for being on a hiatus for the past 2 weeks, I think I photoblog too much that I am a bit lazy to do some typing, hehe. And life had been quite busy with all the homeworks, ECAs and computing project (urgh!). =(

Anyway, I am very happy now because I tried Facebook just now, and I am totally in love with it! I am an internet-geek because I fall in love with (good) websites as much as I do with (pretty) girls! =) You can see my previous ‘crush’ - Flickr , NinjaWords, Google Analytics, Flock (not a website, a web browser) and etc. =D

P.S: Maybe, I think I should update my list of “25(1213) Site (we)I Can’t Live Without”, hehe.

Ok, let’s get straight to the point. Well, Facebook is one of the most popular social networking website. According to Alexa ranking, it’s the 10th most visited website, while MySpace, the most popular social networking site on Earth sits at 6th place, and Orkut, the invitation-based social networking site by Google ends up at 7th place.

Facebook is highly recommended by a lot of people over the web (in blogs, forums and etc), and there’s a lot of good reviews about it, but it’s not very popular in Asia (not yet) because it’s specifically geared for colleges and universities students(particularly in US, Europe, Australia and etc) at first. However, it’s now available for high school students and everyone too! =) Continue Reading…

Vagabond’s Comeback: This Time For Real

Finally, after more than 2-3 weeks of on-and-off from the blogosphere, I am back! =) I am hosting with ASO (ASmallOrange.Com) now, my first paid host (used to host on Sheng’s private server), U$5 (roughly B$8) per month, 400MB space. The price is reasonable, and they’re obviously not over-selling (many web hosts are over-selling by giving out hundreds of GBs of space for less than 10 bucks a month, but their speed is very slow and their technical support is very bad). So far I am quite happy with ASO, they provide me with prompt replies (often within 10 minutes) whenever I submit a ticket (questions, email). =)

P.S: You can’t access this blog using sub-domain yet (http://vagabond.vrien-den.com) because the domain name takes time to completely propagate for various ISPs, might takes up to a week. =( It seems like the domain name is stable already, should be 100% working in a few days time. =)

Vagabond’s Comeback

I Am Back

Hello people, I am back! Weeeee!~ *fireworks*

Well, I am back, after almost 2 weeks of hiatus due to a server crash. It’s my fault tho, for being too abusive on my WordPress installation.

For those who read my blog frequently (and didn’t skip my ‘technical’ posts), you all should know that I love to play around with plugins, one of the most brilliant feature of WordPress. However, due to my frequent installation (and uninstall) of plugins, my database is totally messed up. So, it eventually crashed when I installed (again) another plugin 2 weeks ago, and ta-da, error messages started to appear all over my blog, and in the end, everything is gone. Continue Reading…
